The Dialysis Unit Inside the Hotel Arcus Residence in Medulin is the most modern dialysis unit in Croatia and the only dialysis centre for foreign tourists. The unit is located on the Adriatic coast, in Istria, the most famous Croatian holiday region.
This is a top equipped unit in a newly built air-conditioned tract. There are 20 dialysis places. The Centre is lead by an experienced team, according to the highest world standards. The staff will do their best for our guests to feel safe and just like in their own homes. During the dialysis sessions the guests can watch satellite TV program, listen to the music, read or communicate via Internet with their families and friends, wherever they are.
There is a generally accepted opinion that the therapy which assures health and life has to deprive the guests of fundamental life joys like travelling or spending their holidays far away from their homes. The Arcus Dialysis centre completely meets their needs but also offers leisure, travel, excursions, sports etc. Excellent medical treatment provides specific needs for patients and gives them the possibility to enjoy in a comfortable stay and top active holiday in the most beautiful Croatian area, far away from their homes.
Medical treatment
The dialysis centre is located at the Hotel Arcus Residence, in
a separate and newly built tract with complete modern
infrastructure.
With this intent this Centre provides the highest standard
in medical facilities, equipment and used materials of the last
technological generation.
Our very experienced multilingual medical staff takes
special care to provide a comfortable stay and high safety standard
of their patients.
The dialysis water is prepared by reverse osmosis technology
with Culligan last generation facilities and this represents the
highest dialysis standard.
All dialysis places are equipped by special therapy chairs,
produced by Digiterm.
Dialysis machines B|Braun, Dialog+, last generation.
Sterilization is carried out after each session.
Dialysis procedures are standard bicarbonate hemodialysis and
hemodiafiltration. Lines, needles, and dialysis concentrates are
from B|Braun, Germany.
Dialyzesr (filters): Diacap alfa (B|Braun, Germany), low and
high flux filters with polysulfonic membrane, gamma sterilized,
single use. Lines are also gamma sterilized.
Laboratory equipment: ionometer and hemometer and
emergency medical equipment.
All guests are submitted to a physical examination prior to
the first dialysis session.
The Centre is lead by very experienced physicians. The
doctors' specialities are nephrologists, urologist, general surgeon
and vascular access specialist. Always present during each HD
session.
We accept adult patients, children over 13 years of age and
HBsAg-neg, anti HCV-neg and anti HIV-neg patients.
A regional hospital with all specialities and services with
approximately 700 beds is situated 7 km from the hotel.

Location and surroundings
The tourist dialysis centre Arcus is located in Medulin, in Croatia (www.hrvatska.hr), on the Adriatic coast, in the Istrian region, on the north-western Croatian coast, Medulin is located in a developed tourist area with a splendid, indented coast, plenty of hotels, restaurants, tourist agencies, shops, sports facilities, swimming beaches etc. (www.medulin.hr). A very busy international airport at 10 km with regular lines and flights of low cost air companies. The Italian and Slovenian border at app. 100 km.
