Officially opened 31st August, 1996, Villa Messina is situated at the heart of Rabat, alongside the picturesque priory of St. Dominic. The Complex enjoys advantageous proximity to the rich, historical city of Mdina on one side and the sprawling countryside of Buskett and Dingli on the other. Villa Messina offers spacious, independent living units, all of which have a balcony. The Complex is built round manicured landscaped gardens and a large, outdoor pool and hydrotherapy spa. Following an extension to the Home completed on the 31st August 2002, the original capacity of the Complex was increased from 160 persons in 87 rooms to 188 persons in 101 rooms.

The building has four levels above ground and two underground levels, which provide 50 car parking spaces. Most of the rooms are for two persons sharing, but it is possible to take a sharing room as a single room.

You will be immediately impressed by the homely, comfortable and welcoming atmosphere which prevails throughout the retirement complex. There is no limit to the length of stay with us. Whether you choose to come for a short convalescence period, a short holiday or perhaps a longer stay, our highly trained personnel will ensure it is a happy and pleasant one.

The menu changes every day and your suggestions are always welcome. We also organise regular social and entertainment activities inside and outside the Complex. Both internal and external activities are co-ordinated and designed to meet your wishes and preferences. Outings to special places of interest are organised every week, as well as a "theme night" once a month.

Our efficient 24 hour reception service will ensure your complete security and assist in any enquires or arrangements you might need. Magazines and daily newspapers can be ordered and will be delivered directly to you along with your incoming mail. Villa Messina is a retirement complex like no other. Its location is ideal for country walks and strolls through the old city of Mdina. Our large underground car park makes it easy for you and your visitors to come and go at leisure. The car park is directly connected to the complex and is carefully monitored by close circuit T.V. cameras.

In summer, our outdoor pool offers excellent swimming facilities. The specially designed hydro-therapy spa offers relaxing and enjoyable total body therapy. We also provide a multi-purpose room where you can enjoy get-togethers, tea parties special talks and social gatherings. All our rooms are attractively furnished, and you can even bring along any small items of furniture to make your new home as personal and individuals you are. Residential units can come as either single or double units each fitted with a kitchenette and an en suite shower room.

Officially opened 1st August, 1993, Casa Arkati is situated in Mosta overlooking the evergreen Wied il-Ghasel valley and offers unobstructed views of the historical city of Mdina, Malta's old capital.

Casa Arkati's concept is based upon the philosophy of "Integrity, Quality and Care". This ensures that the running of our Home is carried out according to the highest possible standards of care. All aspects in the design of each residential room have been considered so that whether our residents are with us for a long period or simply a short stay, they feel comfortable, secure and happy.

Most of the residential rooms are for two persons sharing, but it is possible to take a sharing room as a single rooms. There are five levels in the building and access to each floor is either via main staircase or via one of the two hydraulic lifts linking all floors.

At Casa Arkati, we are fully prepared to care for any special dietary requirements. All meals are carefully prepared within our extensively equipped kitchen and may be selected from a varied and healthy menu. Meals can be served in one's room if necessary.

Other personalised services we offer are:

  • Before administering the medicines, the qualified Nurses ascertains that the correct drug and dose are given to the resident. Residents at Casa Arkati may be allowed to self medicate. Our qualified nurses take care of the stocking and re-ordering of all the residents' medication.
  • An Occupational therapy plan is formulated for every resident at Casa Arkati, and through our Occupational Therapist, this plan is continuously monitored and updated. The aim of this plan will be to help residents regain or maintain some of their independence.
  • Incoming mail will be delivered to rooms and any outward correspondence can be collected regularly for posting. Should residents require assistance to write letters, fill in forms, etc. staff will be available to assist.
  • All personal items are collected washed, ironed and delivered by our trained staff. Linen is regularly changed.
  • Our hairdresser, chiropodist and beautician, visits Casa Arkati weekly. Your personal beauty professionals will always be welcome.
